Reports To:  Pack Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Pack Lead to support our packaging operations. The Pack lead will be responsible for leading a team of pack workers, ensuring packing targets are met, and maintaining quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, eagerness to develop new skills and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate and supervise the daily packing activities of assigned staff
2. Ensure that pack goals and objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner
3. Monitor packing performance, identify areas of improvement, and take corrective action as needed
4. Ensure that packing processes are carried out in accordance with established safety and quality standards
5. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
6. Train and mentor packing staff in the use of equipment and processes
7. Monitor and document employee attendance and performance
8. Develop and implement packing schedules and workflows
9. Enforce company policies and procedures in a consistent and fair manner
10. Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper stock rotation
11. Troubleshoot packing issues and resolve them in a timely manner
12. Stay informed about new developments and best practices in greenhouse management, horticulture, operations, and incorporate new techniques and technologies as appropriate.
13. Maintain a safe and positive work environment by adhering to all safety protocols, promoting teamwork, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement  and address any performance or behavioral issues proactively.
14. Perform additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing or packing operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control principles.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and coach team members to achieve goals and objectives.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and GMP requirements applicable to food processing operations.
• Proficiency in using computer software for pack planning, scheduling, and data analysis (i.e. Google Suite, Netsuite, Slack, monday.com, etc.)
• Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and perform tasks in a cold environment for extended periods.
• Ability lift up to 50 lbs
• Manual dexterity for operating machinery and performing tasks.

• The Pack Lead will primarily work in a cold environment, overseeing packing activities in the pack house.
• The work environment may involve exposure to cold, heat, humidity, and plant-related allergens.
