Job Summary:

Eden Green Technology is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to oversee, optimize, and maintain our advanced vertical farming systems. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in systems engineering, project management expertise, and a proven ability to lead teams in developing and executing preventative maintenance plans. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, leadership, and training capabilities to ensure operational excellence in our facilities.


Key Responsibilities:

System Design and Maintenance:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain system performance standards for vertical farming operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues with greenhouse systems, including heating, ventilation, irrigation, lighting, automation systems, and supporting infrastructure to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life..
  • Analyze system performance data to identify trends and implement improvements.


 

Preventative Maintenance Planning:

  • Design, document, and train teams on comprehensive preventative maintenance plans for all systems.
  • Lead workshops and training sessions to ensure team compliance and understanding of maintenance procedures.
  • Monitor and audit the execution of maintenance schedules to maintain peak system performance and minimize downtime.

Project Management:

  • Plan and execute engineering projects, including upgrades, installations, and testing of new technologies.
  • Develop project timelines, manage budgets, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure that all projects comply with safety and regulatory standards.

Team Leadership and Training:

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to maintenance and operations teams.
  • Foster a collaborative environment to encourage innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training programs to elevate team proficiency in system operations and troubleshooting.

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Collaborate with R&D, operations, and other cross functional teams to align engineering efforts with company goals.
  • Create detailed technical reports and present findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Assist in developing and refining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for systems and maintenance protocols.


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related field).
  • 5-10 years of experience in systems engineering or related roles, with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including leading cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing preventative maintenance plans.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial systems, automation, or agricultural technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team training and collaboration.

Preferred:

  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or Maintenance Management (e.g., CMRP).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with vertical farming systems or controlled-environment agriculture.
